TEG is a Web (JSON) to SMTP gateway. It can be used by clients (usually Web services) to send e-mail in response to user interaction, such as sending invoices, or to send bulk e-mail to mailing list recipients. Instead of creating an e-mail using a language-specific API, the client instructs TEG on how it wants the message to be both constructed and delivered - TEG takes care of the rest.
TEG can be configured for both direct delivery, or to send via SMTP smart hosts. Using smart hosts, TEG provides a single API for sending via multiple SMTP providers, eliminating the need to implement proprietary APIs for each service. Is TEG free?
TEG Lite is free. This version has limitations intended to reduce its usefulness for sending unsolicited e-mail (spam), while still allowing it to be used for low-volume transactional e-mail. See below.
Licensing for the full version of TEG without limitations is to be determined. If you would like to try this, please contact us.What are the limitations of TEG Lite?
TEG Lite is intended for low-volume transactional e-mail use. To reduce its appeal to spammers, it is not suitable for bulk mailing due to the following restrictions:
Windows Vista or later (amd64 only). Memory requirements depend primarily on database size. The amount of memory used by TEG may appear greater than necessary due to the use of memory mapped files to improve performance. This memory is managed by the operating system and will be available for other applications if required. How do I report a bug or request a feature?
