This guide covers the minimum requirements to get the Transactional E-mail Gateway (TEG) configured to send e-mail via a smart host. You will require a 64-bit (amd64) Windows host running Vista or later with administrative access, along with details of your SMTP server. You will also require a means of sending GET/POST requests to TEG. In this guide we are using the Postman API development tool.Installation
1. Run the installer and accept the license agreement.
2. Select the installation path. This path should be excluded from virus scanning.
3. Click Next to proceed with installation.
4. At the end Setup, a text document will be displayed with an administrative token. This token is required to configure TEG. Make a note of it for future reference.
If you lose the token, this will be displayed again when running the installer (including on upgrades). Alternatively, you can shut down TEG and run it from the command line using the -token option along with a valid configuration.
teg.exe "-config:C:\Program Files\Transactional E-mail Gateway\config" -token
The default TEG settings should work for most installations. By default, TEG is configured for smart host delivery, which means at a minimum a smart host must be specified, or TEG configured for direct delivery. In this guide, we are using smart hosts.1. Configure your API query tool to use an Authorization Bearer header containing the administative token provided during installation, in this case 7TlupOr4NjAM6QftQqBCBVwDgqobGoB5.
